I would like to kindly ask you:
1. What picture size do you reccomend for:
a) regular pages (like in this forest: http://preview.themeforest.net/item/reco-minimal-theme-for-freebies/full_screen_preview/22300581?_ga=2.159946941.1819122124.1560161990-2030970994.1553178769)
b) blog posts (like this dog: http://preview.themeforest.net/item/reco-minimal-theme-for-freebies/full_screen_preview/22300581?_ga=2.159946941.1819122124.1560161990-2030970994.1553178769)?
2. Do you reccomend to leave this image size in its original size? Or I should shrink (crop) them to some specific size, to be able to have them perfectly in the theme position?
For both example i need the full URL, on the right top side you must click remove frame and you will see this URL: http://estudiopatagon.com/themes/wordpress/recov3/ after that you can share the url examples to do the check.
sorry, I did not realized, that it will not work.
So the links are:
Hi! ok now is good.
About your questions:
a) A perfect size is 1500x500 for pages (and retina display devices) but you can use a smaller images for example 1200x400px to make them more optimized in terms of KB's
b) The recommended size for standard posts is 840x400
The pages will use the same size as posts: http://prntscr.com/o0lbs7
2.- It's totally up to yo. If you are using images without text, it will be fine to leave them without cropping, if the image is larger enough the system will crop them automatically.
Some customers crop the images to specific sizes when they are using images with text, so they must look perfectly to show the texts properly.
Also if you are cropping and optimizing the images manually, you will get a speed benefit from this.
Hope all this information may help you!
thank you for your perfect answers - just this I wanted to know.
So maybe last questions, which (I admitt) is not related to your Reco theme - what tool do you use or would you recomend for optimizing pictures? I use for example https://compressor.io/.
But there is still the question between the size and the quality of the picture.
I used this one for Reco: https://compressimage.toolur.com/ (compression "C" and between 70 - 80% quality).
I tested a few ones like tinypng (this is good enough if you don't want to loose quality). But because Reco is oriented to High Speed, i used toolur instead.
Between 70 - 75% Google will mark images as optimized, depending of the image you can go up to 80 - 85% without getting the Google insight warning.
